Great two days preaching and ministering in Mason City

Our Saturday  began with a meeting with the elders and Pastor Bruce of the Vineyard which ended with them praying for us during which prophetic words of encouragement came forth for us. Our afternoon was filled with individual appointments for prophetic prayer. Emil preached Sunday morning and the Holy Spirit took over the service by giving him prophetic words for many more people including some children. It was a wonderful time with a wonderful group of people!

Who Speaks into Your Life?

God’s been speaking to me about validation. Your thoughts, feelings, experiences all matter to God. He cares about us and we are important to Him. If we allow God to validate us and we allow His words to validate us, then our emotions will come into alignment with our faith, but when we try to be validated by man, then our faith tries to come into alignment with our emotions.    –Emil

Praise Night Presence

A woman who went through our last Roots class stepped out to fulfill a vision God gave her at the end of 2013 of a Saturday night praise night open to everyone. It happens to be in a community building next door to our apartment. The format is simple: praise and worship and then listening for God’s voice, spontaneous prayer and ministry.  His presence has been amazing each week from the moment the lights are dimmed and the music starts.  Right now, it’s a small group but we pray that it will grow with people who are thirsty for more of Him. How many revivals have started in just such an atmosphere?! Come, Holy Spirit!

Food Distribution Update

Monday was our second time praying for people waiting to receive their food bags (see previous post for further info about the food distribution). We saw four people we prayed for the week before and ALL of them were changed! The one man who had been so agitated the week before when we met him was beaming and going from table to table greeting people and then helping to clean up afterward with the biggest grin on his face! The other three came up to us with huge smiles and hugs. We got to pray for 8 more people this week. We love this door God has opened for us. An additional benefit is that we get to meet people from the churches that take turns volunteering to pack the food. They all have a love for the people of Storm Lake and the sense that God is about to do pour out His love in a big way on this area!

Free Prayer at Food Distribution

I met the guys from “The Bridge Ministries” of Storm Lake at a pastors’ lunch and I asked them about Karen and I getting involved in their weekly food distribution. They said, “Sure! but only if you’ll come and do what you do best–PRAYER! We have plenty of people who want to bag and give out food but no one wants to pray for the people!” They put a prayer request box out and a group prays over the requests during the week but many families come early to get food and also want prayer or ministry right then.  I said YES and THANK YOU, LORD! Yesterday we attended our first food distribution and prayed with eleven people! One man who seemed very agitated when we first approached him became considerably calmer as we began to pray with him. The Lord gave us a word for him and he totally received it and then re-dedicated his life to Jesus! Before our eyes he was transformed into this kind, gentle, sweet man that hugged us before he left!!! The Holy Spirit gave us many prophetic words for people and they readily accepted His love for them. A few cried as we prayed for them!!! The Lord found us a new weekly roadside indoors!!! There were many more people that we didn’t get around to so we will be there earlier next week!

We’re excited about 2014!

God called us to a short season of rest starting in mid-December and going through yesterday. Out of that time we heard directly and through others several words for the New Year including: Freedom, courage, harvest; God is lighting the fire again; God hasn’t forgotten His promises and He will bring them to pass; Emil had a vision of God’s bowls of prayers tipping and pouring over Storm Lake.

Man took off his oxygen tank and walked!

Emil was asked to accompany pastor friends to visit a man with recurring cancer who couldn’t walk and couldn’t be without his oxygen. Emil heard a word from the Lord and that opened the door to the miraculous results. His wife cried as she told them they knew there was a root and had been praying for God to reveal it. When they left the house, the man had been walking around for over half an hour, all his color returned, and his oxygen tank was in the corner! TY Lord!

BWB Covering

We’re looking forward to BWB coming under the covering of the Vineyard Community Church of Mason City.  We are in the process of arranging to meet with the elders and pastor to officially establish this connection.
