Hope Deferred Prayer

Have you been experiencing hopelessness, discouragement, doubt, disillusionment? If so, join us in this prayer by CeCe Sheets. Father, we thank You that You know our hearts even when we can’t see clearly. Your love for us never changes. Even when we seem to lose hope and don’t know what to say to You, we know that You are faithful. You are our peace, the One who heals our hearts, the One Who has power over all, strong, mighty, but full of compassion. I choose to believe Your truths that You watch over me, You are good, faithful, merciful, You cannot lie, You’re my Strong Tower, my Refuge, and my Strength. Lord, I ask You for Your peace and Your strength. I trust that You hold my times and my seasons in Your hands. Today I choose to run into Your loving arms and allow Your wrap-around presence to comfort and sustain me.  Lord, we will not waver in our faith but choose to stand firm, believing Your truths. We hold onto Your promises. We choose to be Your instruments of love and compassion while carrying the torches of truth and justice. Breathe Your hope across our hearts today. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

9 Weeks, 3 Blizzards, Fierce Winds of Change

We will be here in Iowa 9 weeks this Saturday! Since Christmas week, we have experienced 3 blizzards, white-out conditions during which we truly felt isolated even though we can normally see Hwy 71 across the empty corn field behind us! The winds in these blizzards have been fierce–and even on most “normal” days, they have still been strong and constant. Winds of change!!! As God spoke to Emil the other day: “It will seem like it’s very bad but it’s very good!” Something is happening and God is moving! And it’s going to be very, very good! So hang onto the Lord because He’s up to something right now!

Move Complete!

We have been terribly remiss in keeping this page up to date since we became wrapped up in move mode from Colorado to Iowa. I apologize for this. We did send out two newsletters and if you would like to have a copy to catch up with what’s been going on, please sign up on the Contact Us tab.

Moving to Iowa!

The Lord told us about 2 months ago that He is moving us and the ministry to Iowa! We have about a house there, in Sioux Rapids, and sold our house here. Our moving date is November 20th, possibly earlier. Details are in our latest newsletter. If you would like to receive our newsletter, sign up at the page entitled “Contact Us”!

Devotion

We were out of town over the weekend and couldn’t update This Week’s Devotion until today. If you looked for it Saturday, we apologize. We now have the issue fixed so that we can update it when we are out of town!

Iowa Trip

We just returned from a week in Storm Lake, Iowa, where we caught up with many friends and had several ministry appointments, ministering to around 20 people. God is good! We will be back on the Colorado roadside Monday. We were not able to post a new Saturday devotion from Iowa but watch for a new devotion this Saturday, August 15th.

0-100, Smiling to Full-Blown Demon

A woman stopped this week, got out of her car all smiles, but when Emil asked her a question, in the speed of 0-100, she manifested, full-blown! Yelling, screaming, swearing for it seemed like 5 minutes. “This is all you do? You think this is enough, parking your little trailer out here? You need to be out there, doing more to help people!” Karen tried speaking to her but she looked at Karen and yelled, “Don’t tell me I don’t have an intimate relationship with God!” and then turned back to Emil to yell some more. At that point, Karen stepped in between her and Emil and took the woman’s hand, told the woman to look her in the eye, and gently repeated everything she had said, that God loves her, He’s FOR her, He wants to help her, and then asked the woman what she heard that said she didn’t have an intimate relationship with Him? The woman immediately calmed down and stopped manifesting. Then we cast that thing out! After that, the woman apologized profusely for the outburst. We were able to minister to her broken and hurting heart, and she left hugging us and saying how much she loved us!

Get HIS truth

It’s vitally important to know what God is saying about everything in our lives! When we believe in Jesus and listen to Him, we can live in discernment. Emil and I have learned through the years to always ask, “Lord, what’s the truth about this [situation, person, etc]?” After all, He IS truth! Once we get His heart and direction, we can walk in faith in what He told us and not be influenced by anyone but the Lord. We don’t want the world’s opinion, only His. In fact, when He set out the Free Prayer ministry to us 17 years ago, He said, “People don’t need more opinions, so you are never to give them your opinion. You are only to ask Me what I want to say to them. They will stop with a specific prayer request, but I have something to tell them that will set them free. That’s what I want them to hear.” We have seen incredible things over these many years because God ALWAYS goes directly to the heart matter in EVERY situation and heals it, setting people free to hear Him, believe in Him, be filled with His incredible love for them, receive their healing, whatever He wants to happen in that encounter with Him! He is so good and so awesome! Being led by Him, we walk in freedom!

Tribute to Emil’s Mom

It has been too long since we posted and we apologize. Emil’s mom, Helen Liko, went home to be with the Lord June 2nd in Prescott, Arizona. We visited her in mid-March, and Emil spoke to her almost daily since. As he says, “She was the foundation of my faith, making sure that we went to church, read the Bible, and learned of the things of the Lord! She was a giant in the faith. However, you could never tell her that because her first reaction would be to tell you to be quiet because she never saw herself that way!” Helen was part of the Vineyard Gilbert in Arizona for over 20 years before moving to Prescott, and her pastor wrote a wonderful tribute: “Helen was a wonderful lady who lived a life of compassion and mercy. For many years she headed up our monthly neighborhood compassion ministry, leading a group of people from our church to give away food and clothes in a poor neighborhood and pray with them. Her favorite part was when people would give their lives to Christ. She engaged with people in the neighborhood, built relationships with them, and found out what they needed and then went out and got it for them. Sometimes it was a couch, or a bed, or kitchen table–all sorts of things for people who were in need. She was a friend of Jesus, a friend of the poor, and a friend of mine. Heaven’s gain is our loss.” We mourn our loss but at the same time are so happy she’s with Jesus, rejoicing in her new life in perfect health and wholeness!

Newspaper Article 5/13/20

We were interviewed on the roadside at the end of April and the article came out today in our local newspaper, the Pikes Peak Courier. It will be published May 17th in the Colorado Springs Gazette. We are very happy with the article and grateful that the reporter was able to capture the ministry in a way that gave God the glory while giving the community an accurate description of what we do! Thank You, Lord for the favor! Look in the Photo Gallery section, scroll down to the bottom of the Colorado 2018 – Present section for scans of the article.
